Cat Fans Can Now Pounce on PDQ Press 2006 Cat Calendar

DALLAS, TEXAS -- January 5, 2006 -- Dallas-based PDQ Press, in business since 1978, recently released its annual calendar featuring well-known artwork ? enhanced by cats. As has been the case for 15 years, the cats on the cover will be the PDQ resident cats. The 2006 Calendar is a feline adaptation of Rene' Magritte's "Son of Man"

The calendars have been produced since the press' first year in operation and have been a tradition ever since. Last year's calendar featured a version of Vermeer's "Cat with a Pearl Earring" with shop cat Jpeg standing in.

The cats themselves are also a tradition at PDQ Press. Currently in residence are Jpeg (named after a type of digital file) and Tiffany (after the typeface). From day one, the cats have been rescued and acquired from a local shelter.

The cats live at the press and interact with employees and customers. "Tiffany's pretty famous for sitting right on top of your paperwork," explains PDQ owner Mark Pollak. "She'll go away only if you give her some cat snack. It's not because she loves us ? she's an opportunist."
